Mark 6:49-50; 1 John 4:18; Psalms 53:5; 2 Kings 6:14-18; Deuteronomy 2:8,9,19; Numbers 22:2-6; Deuteronomy 23:3-5; Isaiah 37:6,36,38; 51:7,12-13; 2 Timothy 1:7; Hebrews 2:14-15; 13:5

Many times, we manifest unnecessary panic, fear, fright, anxiety, torment and get into trouble because of our supposition. Our interpretation gets us into trouble. “But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out” (Mark 6:49). There are time we see a situation in our lives, and not knowing it is the Lord doing it, we attribute it to Satan, evil spirit or an enemy; and because of our supposition, we begin to cry, lose our appetite and go on compulsory fasting. “For they all saw him, and were troubled” (Mark 6:50). They saw loving Jesus, Saviour, Friend, the One that the Father sent to them to take them to Heaven; and they were troubled. He was not the cause of their trouble, but their supposition. Many times in our lives we give wrong interpretations to things happening, and the actions and reactions of people, and we become afraid. Your fears are cancelled in Jesus’ name. Jesus said to them, “Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid” (Mark 6:50). “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18). Christ loved them perfectly that was why He came to save them. God loved them perfectly that was why He sent His Only Begotten Son to save them. And God loves us perfectly with an everlasting love, that is why He sent His Son, the Holy Spirit and His word to us. “There were they in great fear, where no fear was” (Psalms 53:5). There was no reason, root or consequence for the fear. See some illustrations of this needless fear. The king of Syria had sent a great host of horses and chariots at night to take Elisha, and when his servant woke up and saw them he was afraid. Elisha however saw what he did not see. “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw; and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” (2 Kings 6:16-17). You will see beyond your fear; you will see the Prince of Peace, Power, the Lord Jesus Christ and all the causeless panic will vanish away. He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world. And all those chariots of fire around you will not allow the enemies to get near you in Jesus’ Name.

The whole of Deuteronomy is a repetition of the history of the children of Israel from the time they came out of Egypt till the time they almost got to the promised land. And now as Moses rehearsed the history, he gave us the revelation that if the Moabites knew what the Lord had said, they would not have been afraid.  “And the LORD said unto me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give thee of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession” (Deuteronomy 2:9). The children of Israel were not to touch, fight nor distress the children of Moab.  Moab and Ammon were children of Lot, and their descendants were the Moabites and Ammonites, and as the children of Israel were passing, God instructed them not to distress, fight not take their lands.  However, “And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel” (Numbers 22:3). Moab’s supposition and assumptions brought them personal, self-imposed distress. There was nothing to warrant them to call Balaam to destroy Israel.  The Lord will protect you, your family and everything you have, and no evil hand will touch you. It was panic that made Balak to send for Balaam to curse the children of Israel. The consequence of that unnecessary fear was, “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:  Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee” (Deuteronomy 23:3-4). Curse, yoke and oppression causeless shall not come.  Nobody will destroy you (Deuteronomy 23:5). “And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me” (Isaiah 37:6). Don’t be afraid of what you read, hear, rumours or threatening; our God is in control.  The Lord is telling you don’t be afraid; in a moment of time, all will be over. Why are you afraid of dead corpses, or of the things you hear? All those things will come to nought. The Lord is on your side, and He will help and protect you, and all those threats will turn to nothing in Jesus Name (Isaiah 57:12-13). Fear is a spirit, and it works on the heart and soul of man It weakens you in the inner man and gets to the brain, and it is not of God. Whatever God has not given you you will throw away. He has given you the spirit of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear will make you stop loving people that you think are your problem; but you will not be afraid. You will not run away from your husband’s house, city, nor abandon the worship of God because of unnecessary fear in Jesus Name. You know what the devil wants to do is to detach you from the Source of power, so that he can handle you very well. Satan brings the fear to make you run away from your God, but you will not run away from your Redeemer. No fear will detach you from the Lord in Jesus Name. “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me” (Hebrews 13:6). The Lord is your Helper, Guide, Support and Protection. He says to you, It is I, be not afraid. Fear is cancelled out of your life in Jesus’ Name.

Mark 6:53-56

“And when they had passed over,” (Mark 6:53a)  You see that the disciples got to the other side eventually. Everything that the Lord had said about you will happen; every promise that the Lord had given you will be fulfilled; and every place that the Lord had ordained for you to get to, you will get there in Jesus Name. “And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him, And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they hear he was.” (Mark 6:54-55). They were compassionate, considerate, sympathetic people, and when they saw Jesus that had solution to every problem, they went and brought people unto Him. The people knew that Christ had come. And Jesus is here tonight. Our Redeemer, Saviour, Healer, Deliverer, Conqueror and Solution to every problem has come. And you know that He is there by your side today. Whatever you ask in His Name, He do it. The Lord has entered our church locations tonight, He got here before you came and is waiting for you to call upon Him. “…. and as many as touched him were made whole” (Mark 6:56). As the sick, incurable, weak ones, oppressed, cursed, touch Him today, He will answer and heal them. Tonight is your night to touch Him. In your spirit, soul, heart, mind, blood system, brain and spiritual life; you will be made whole.
